John is a professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in the rail industry, John has been involved in the planning, design and construction of commuter, light rail, and freight lines. His expertise encompasses consulting, program management, and signaling/train control, both nationally and internationally.

Joining Rio Grande Pacific in 2010, Jason oversees technology use and deployment, sets department objectives and strategies, upgrades technology to streamline internal operations, and spearheads infrastructure improvement initiatives. His previous IT experience involves developing solutions to technology and network challenges.

Dan Fregia
Dan Fregia
Dan Fregia has more than 20 years of experience in railroad signal design and is an active member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA). He has experience in the design of traffic signal operations for highway-rail grade crossing signal projects and wayside signals and has designed more than 200 signal systems over the last two decades. Dan has also overseen the design and implementation of thousands of vital inductive loops for railroad applications on all classes of freight and commuter railroads across North America. Dan’s career experience includes responsibility for project development, estimating, engineering, material procurement, construction, inspection and in-service testing.
Dan has also provided signal construction inspection and project management support for multiple light rail commuter agency construction projects and has more than 10 years’ experience in the design, installation, cutover and in-service testing of wayside signals for multiple freight railroads. He is also experienced in design of interlockings and four-quadrant gate systems, including cabinet layout design, testing and implementation.

Rob Burkhardt, P.E., MIRSE
Rob Burkhardt, P.E., MIRSE
A third-generation railroader, Rob is a professionally licensed electrical engineer in eleven states. He is a senior and principal lead engineer and project manager in light rail, freight, and commuter signal systems design. He heads the Louisville, KY RIOTECH office, leading an engineering team competent in all major wayside and crossing signal processor platforms.
